Tutorial Tuesday - Cupcake Pillow/Stuffed Toy

As mentioned yesterday, we are celebrating around here this weekend.
My daughter's birthday party is cupcake themed, and what better way to celebrate
then with a little stuffed cupcake friend?!

Tutorial Tuesday - Baby Doll Stroller Makeover

I had originally planned to post an entire tutorial on how to revamp
a Baby Doll stroller for my tutorial today. Halfway through my picture taking/redo,
my kids needed me, the hubby came home, and dinner needed to be made.
So I stopped. But I do have two websites,
that I will share with today that helped me during my stroller makeover.

Thanks to The Crafting Chicks and Prudent Baby, I finished Ry's stroller!

Cloth Baby Shoes

I wanted so badly to find some shoes that would coordinate with Rylee's clothes. The weather is getting cooler so I really wanted to find something to keep her feet warm. Let me just say that baby shoes are expensive! So I googled how to make baby shoes and found these two tutorials:

I have tried them both and like each tutorial in their own way. I mixed the two to get a tutorial that is easier for me. So try them out and let me know what you think!

Silky Squares
(or Pooh Squares as my sisters call them...)
Rylee loves these. She can only sleep with one on her face. My sister Krysta made her the first one she had and she has loved them ever since! They are the perfect comfort for any baby or toddler!

You will need:
- 1/2 yard Flannel Fabric (this will be enough for two silky squares)
- 1/2 yard Satin or Sateen Fabric
- 1 package of Satin Blanket Binding (in a coordinating color)
- Thread (again a coordinating color)
- Sewing Machine

Step 1.) Cut one 17 x 17 square from both your Flannel Fabric and your Satin Fabric.

Step 2.) Lay the pieces together and then sew a seam around all the edges.

Step 3.) Starting from the middle of one side of your sewn square pin the binding.

Step 4.) Using a zig-zag stitch, attach the satin binding to the square.

Step 5.) Take the binding and go around the corner. Fix the corner to a triangle shape and pin it. Continue stitching the remainder of the binding to each side, while pinning each corner.

Step 6.) Now using a quilters stitch, stitch each corner down.

Step 7.) Finally overlap the binding meeting at the middle where you started, and using the same quilter's stitch complete the binding.
