Vacation

My parents have rented this beach house for our entire family.
My 5 sisters, our hubbys, my parents, and our kids
will all be enjoying fun in the sun!
We will be leaving soon.
In order to safeguard our lives and home I won't say when,
or mention where we will be going,
but I will be taking this whole week off of posting here at A Daily Post!
We definitely plan to thoroughly enjoy ourselves
and when I get back be prepared for more food, tutorials, and craftiness!

That's Crafty Thursday - 4/21/10

Seriously if craft blog surfing is an addiction,
I have it.

Ribbon Flower Tutorial

Yes it's another bow tutorial.
I have a LOVE of creating bows to match my baby girl's clothes.
So bear with me..
These are really simple once you get the hang of it.

Ribbon Flowers

Supply List:
6 - pieces of 3/8" grosgrain ribbon,
cut to 3 inches and heat sealed.
Needle and Thread
Embellishment for the middle of your bow

Step 1) Fold a pieces of ribbon in half.

Step 2) Run a stitch through the end.

Step 3) Pull the ribbon to the bottom of your thread.

Step 4) Repeat steps 1-3 until all 6 pieces are strung like this:

Step 5) Hold the ribbons as tight as you can and pull the string through them.
A flower shape will start to form.

Step 6) Take the needle back through the stitch on the first petal. Like this:

Step 7) Pull the flower tight and tie off the thread on the back of the bow.

Step 8) Now you have your bow! Embellish the center

Step 9) And add a clip to the back.

Your finished!

Make it Monday - Strawberry Shortcakes - 4/19/10

Going back to the basics,
I decided to share my favorite Strawberry Shortcakes recipe today.
Nothing beats a classic right?!

Enjoy..

Strawberry Shortcakes

4 cups Strawberries, sliced
1/4 cup sugar
2 1/3 cups original Bisquick Mix
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup whipping cream

-Heat oven to 425 degrees. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and strawberries. Set aside.
- Mix Bisquick Mix, milk and 3 T. sugar until soft dough forms.
-Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet.
-Bake 10-12 min. until golden brown.
-Meanwhile, beat whipping cream until soft peaks form.
-When cakes are done, split them and fill with strawberry mixture and whip cream.
